A significant milestone was the expansion into digital printing with the Omega Digicon series of label converting machinery.

AB Graphic International, a wholly-owned family business within the worldwide label converting industry, is celebrating 60 years in business. According to the company, its strategy of continuous development has consolidated its position as a leading international supplier of label converting systems. To celebrate the anniversary, every member of AB Graphic International was presented with a bottle of champagne. The bottles were labeled with a commemorative, digitally printed design that was finished on one of its Omega Digicon systems. Established in 1954 by George H. Burton as Burton Engineering, the company has enjoyed significant milestones. Some of those include the expansion in digital printing, which occurred in 2008 with the Omega Digicon series label converting line, and a move to the new premises in 2006, which brought all of its UK manufacturing operations under one roof. The Omega Digicon’s development — complete with enhancements and finishing modules — was aimed at fully automating the label printing process, which continues with the recent launch of the Omega Digicon Series 3 in this milestone year. In 1977, the company rebranded and established AB Graphic International. The move was designed to broaden its product offerings to the wide range of label finishing and inspection/rewinding systems that it now offers. In its early years, the focus was on producing a range of tag and ticket converting lines within the paper converting industry. From 1983 to 1994, the acquisition of a number of industry related manufacturing operations further broadened engineering capabilities to encompass the Vectra range of turret rewinders. Sales and manufacturing operations were established in Holland, Spain and the United States in the years from 1989 to 1999. More recently, its operations have expanded to France and Germany.
